Cancellation Policy: $150 of the registration fee is non-refundable. The cost of the program is dependent on filling the program to capacity. If you cancel before the registration deadline (December 15, 2026), we will refund all registration fees except the $150 non-refundable portion. The same is true if you cancel after the registration deadline and we are able to fill your spot with a new registrant.
After the registration deadline, if you cancel and we are unable to replace your registration, we will follow these guidelines for refunds:
∙ From December 15-January 15, 2027, we will refund 50% of the registration fee.
∙ From January 15-February 15, 2027, we will refund 20% of the registration fee.
∙ After February 15, 2027, there will be no refund. Pendle Hill reserves the right to cancel any program at any time. If this occurs, the processing fee will be waived. A spiritual pilgrimage to Monteverde, Costa Rica with Francisco Burgos.

As we explore nature, accompany one another, and create space for practices that nurture our spiritual journey, participants will be invited to embrace daily life with simplicity, gratitude, hope, and a deep sense of connection. Kairos on the Mountain is an invitation to pause, reflect on your personal and communal spiritual path, and encounter the divine in nature while walking with others and experiencing the living dynamic between community and solitude.
Participants will learn about the history of the Quaker community in Monteverde as they explore the beauty of the cloud forest. The pilgrimage will create a unique space for spiritual growth by combining key practices from Quaker and other faith traditions, and provide the opportunity to engage in contemplative praying of the Scriptures and experience the deep practice of worship sharing. This kairos pilgrimage is rooted in meeting for worship, worship sharing, lectio divina (divine reading), silence, community, and celebration.

This spiritual experiment will include two 90-minute online sessions prior to the trip to Monteverde to support our preparation for this journey.

Francisco Burgos

Pendle Hill’s Executive Director, will lead the retreat.
